Mazda has revealed a facelift version of the Mazda6 for 2010 which will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
Yesterday Mazda revealed the 2010 version of the Mazda6 in Japan, and we were just about to report on that when we had an email drop in to our inbox with details of the European version of the Mazda6 which will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
Maybe the Japanese car companies are finally working out that the Interweb reports Japanese launches when they happen so there’s no point procrastinating on details for the rest of the world? But whatever the reason we have official details of what the Mazda6 has in store for the UK this year. But don’t get too excited; it’s much more a facelift than a new car.
The most obvious change to the Mazda6 is the adoption of the new Mazda family nose, with a redesigned bumper, new headlights and tail lights. Mazda have also had a play with the chassis settings and added stuff like pivoting headlights and hill-start assist.
Biggest change is under the skin, with the new Mazda 2.0 litre DISI petrol lump that delivers lower emissions and improved economy. There are also updated versions of the 1.8 and 2.5 litre petrol engines. Diesels come in three flavours – 129bhp to 180bhp – all derived from the same 2.2 litre turbo diesel.
Launch is at the Geneva Motor Show in March with deliveries starting in the Spring.

still looking for pictures of the facelifted 6 in the non-sport version – all pictures seem to be of the sport.
Adrian says
The new ones all look like the current sport because the new corporate grill/nose is almost identical to the sport one.

Have been to 3 Mazda dealers ti inquire about the new facelifted model. My leased vehicle is due out of contract in March 2010 and wished to replace it with another Mazda 6 estate. Would wait a month or so for a facelifted model.
Not one Mazda dealer has contacted me re the new model. Seems strange to me if they don’t want business.
Now looking at a Mondeo estate -reluctantly.

It always astonishes us how poor car dealers are at the things that matter – like following up enquiries. You get jumped on if you go in the showroom (that said, we’ve had plenty of experience of being all but ignored with sales staff too busy drinking coffee and socialising to offer service) but leave an enquiry that needs following up and you’re lucky if you hear from them again.
As for the Mondeo, it is a great car but that too is getting updates – particularly with engines – very soon. Have a look at Ford Mondeo new engines before you jump in!

just ordered a mazda 6 estate sport luxury …well almost ?
i’ve been advised it’s dropped from the range … now revised to sport wanted to upgrade to have some of the extras as the luxury spec. been advised front &rearparking sensors now to be standard on sport ..happy days..also trying to establish with great difficulty if sat nav ( shown in rhd & lhd) images is to be avail for the u.k. ????
looking forward to taking receipt of 1 of the 1st off the production line …

You cant get sat nav on the sport model as it comes standard with a BOSE sound system that is not compatible apparently, shame but not the end of the world.
