Mercedes GLB Compact SUV UK Prices and Specs announced

The new Mercedes GLB, a chunky compact SUV sitting between the GLA and GLC in Mercedes SUV line-up, costs from £34,200 in the UK and is now on sale.

It’s a couple of months since Mercedes revealed the GLB, a new addition to the Mercedes range of SUVs, filling a gap no one actually knew was really there between the GLA and GLC. And now it’s on sale in the UK.

Despite its relatively compact dimensions, Mercedes has managed to squeeze three rows of seats in to the GLB, and they’re on offer even in the entry-level GLB 200 Sport.

The GLB 200 Sport gets a little 1.3 litre petrol engine with 161bhp sending power to the front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch ‘box and comes with a standard spec including 18″ alloys, 7″ digital instruments and touchscreen, AEB, Climate, Artico, ‘Hey Mercedes’ and heated front seats.

Spend a bit more (£35,700) and you can have the AMG Line trim in the GLB 200 – and the option of a 2.0 litre diesel with 148bhp and FWD or 4WD – and additional goodies like 19″ alloys, an AMG body kit, Sports Seats and privacy glass. You can also have the 2.0 litre diesel in the GLB 220d, which comes with 187bhp and 4Matic.

Extra goodies are courtesy of the AMG Line Premium trim adding power door mirrors, Keyless, bigger infotainment, parking camera, and it is also available with just five seats. Prices start at £38,700.

If that’s not enough you can go for the imaginatively-named AMG Line Premium Plus trim which throws in Multibeam LED headlights, High Beam Assist, Panoramic Roof, electric front seats and more safety stuff. Prices start at £41,700.

On sale now at Mercedes UK dealers, the new Mercedes GLB will find its way in to owners’ hands by December.
