New BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo EXPLAINED on video

BMW has released a five minute video which attempts to explain why the new 6 Series Gran Turismo is the right replacement for the 5 Series GT.
We had expected BMW to move the next 6 Series range closer to competition for cars like the Porsche 911, but instead they’ve gone in a very different direction.
Admittedly, the 6 Series GT does look a little less ungainly that the 5 Series GT, but it is still a rather bulbous and somewhat oddly proportioned attempt to make the Gran Turismo idea appealing.
BMW clearly know the objections to the looks of the 5 Series GT hampered sales, and they’re trying hard with this new 6 Series GT video to explain why the 6 Series GT is a winner.
To be fair, the video does make the GT look a lot better than the still photos we saw last week, looking almost elegant and (almost) a logical extension of the current 6 Series, and a sensible ‘Grand Tourer’ alternative to the very good 6 Series Gran Coupe.
What is also appealing is the GT’s interior, which does look to be a nice, well-equipped, place to spend a cross continent journey in – driving or as a passenger.
It’s a bold attempt to position the 6 Series Gran Turismo as a really appealing alternative to an Audi A7 or Porsche Panamera.
