New Ford Fiesta ST UK Price and specs announced
Ford has announced prices and specs for the new Fiesta ST, with prices starting from a very reasonable £18,995 for the entry-level ST-1 version of Ford’s new warm hatch.
You might have thought that the new Ford Fiesta ST would come with something of a premium price tag; after all, it comes with plenty of technology, a 197bhp three-pot engine with cylinder deactivation, vectoring springs and a trio of driving modes. But, at £18,995, it seems a bit of a warm hatch bargain. That makes the new Fiesta ST a chunk cheaper than both the Peugeot 208 GTI and Renault’s Clio RS, although you can spend a more if you want to with higher trim levels and the options list.
But the £18,995 starting point is the Fiesta ST-1 – only available as a three-door – and it comes with 17″ alloys, Recaro Sports Seats, Cruise, Lane Keep Assist, auto lights, electric heated door mirrors, Ford’s SYNC3 with 6.5″ screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Which isn’t exactly hair shirt time.
But even climbing the trim tree doesn’t result in silly prices, with the ST-2 starting at £19,995 (£20,645 if you want five doors) and adding in posher alloys, Climate, titivated Recaros, 8″ touchscreen, B&O sound and blue seatbelts, and the ST-3 (from £21,495) gets 18″ alloys, red brake calipers, leather, auto high beam, auto wipers, rear view camera, parking sensors, Sat Nav and a TFT instrument display.
The one extra you should probably think about, whichever trim level you pick, is the £850 ST performance Pack, which adds a Quaife limited-slip diff and launch control.
The 2018 Ford Fiesta ST is now on sale in the UK.
