New Land Rover Defender CONFIRMED for 2019 reveal
Land Rover finally confirms that the new Land Rover Defender will be revealed in 2019, although it will be 2020 before it actually goes on sale.
It’s now more than seven years since the tease for the new Land Rover Defender effectively started with the reveal of the DC100 Concept. But now, finally, we look to have some real Land Rover Defender news – it will be revealed in 2019.Yes, Land Rover has finally committed to reveal the new Land Rover Defender in 2019, although as we haven’t yet started 2019 that could mean up to a year way. And it won’t be going in to production until 2020 in any case.
Revealing a new photo of the new Defender (above), out strutting its off-road prowess as testing of the new Defender hits the US, Land Rover say it is being subjected to operating temperatures from -40F to +120F, both on and off-road, and at altitudes up to 13,000 feet above sea level.
Rawdon Glover, JLR UK MD, said:
The Defender nameplate stands for durability and alongside Range Rover delivering ultimate luxury and Discovery offering the best versatility in the market, we will have an SUV for every customer requirement.
With nothing new to say about the new Defender – apart from the fact it will be revealed at some point in 2019 – we could have almost another year of new Defender teases from JLR delivering nothing new ahead of us.
Whoopee.
