New Mitsubishi Outlander (2010) surfaces

The 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander has been launched in Australia

Mitsubishi has launched the 2010 Outlander in Australia. UK launch is expected early in 2010.

Back in April – at the New York Motor Show – Mitsubishi showed off the Outlander GT Concept. It was clear that this was pretty much a production ready version of the Outlander with its new – more aggressive – look and a nose grafted on from the Evo.

And now the revised Outlander – a slightly toned-down version of the GT Concept – has surfaced in Australia as the 2010 Outlander. Featuring the aforementioned Evo nose and a more Evo-like interior, the style is a move towards a family theme across the range by Mitubishi.

The 2010 Outlander will feature Mitsubishi’s Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) – at least on the V6 versions – which improves handling and traction. It uses a front limited-slip diff., giving better side to side and back to front slip control. Also in the mix is Hill Control and three settings on the suspension – Normal, Snow and Traction.

The 3.0 litre V6 from the Outlander XLS carries over, but with a few tweaks and an extra 10bhp. Also on offer is a 2.4 litre mated to either a five speed manual or a CVT. The V6 gets a six-speed auto with a sports setting.

The new Outlander is expected to arrive in the UK early in 2010. We have no prices yet, but we expect to see it start around £22k. There are full details in the 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander Press release. It’s the Oz version, but the UK version isn’t likely to be much different.
