A new Nissan Pulsar is on the way – and will be revealed next week – as Nissan decide it’s time to add a C-Segment hatch back in to its range to take on cars like the VW Golf and Ford Focus.
Nissan say the new Pulsar will re-establish Nissan’s strong link with the C-Segment and the Pulsar will raise the heart rate of buyers in the segment. A strong statement when the Golf and Focus dominate the sector in Europe.
In the reverse of what most car makers do, Nissan look to have taken the styling of the new Qashqai and used it as the focus for the new Pulsar, and we can probably expect an interior that gives more than a passing nod to the Qashqai’s too.
Nissan seem certain to offer a full range of Pulsar models, with everything from a fleet special, sub-100g/km diesel and 3-pot petrol to a range-topping performance Pulsar Nismo in time.
Nissan are planning to reveal the new Pulsar on 20 May, so we’ll have more details then.
