New Porsche Macan REVEALED – like the old Macan, but better

The Porsche Macan has been given a facelift, with the usual Porsche evolutionary cosmetic tweaks, new engines, new Infotainment and chassis fettling.

As you would expect, the new Porsche Macan – well, a mid-life facelift for the Macan, teased last week – arrives without the tweaks and titivations looking obvious. But they are there.

Up front there are very small tweaks – although you need to look hard to find them – and there are new LED headlights as standard. 

The changes are more obvious at the back, with new LED tail lights which extend right across the back, and there are new alloys and new paint options. Just enough for a Porsche anorak to see it’s new, but not for anyone else.

Inside Porsche has given the Macan an 11″ PCM touchscreen with online navigation and voice control, and that’s meant the air vents have been moved a bit. Radical stuff.

Perhaps more importantly than the hide and seek cosmetic changes, the Macan’s chassis comes in for some work with new lighter and stiffer springs promising improved agility, not that the Macan really needs it, and improved refinement.

Unsurprisingly there’s no diesel Macan, at least not for now, but there are three petrol engine options: the same 252bhp 2.0 litre turbo as the entry-level, a ne 3.0 litre V6 with 351bhp and a 434bhp 2.9 litre twin-turbo good for 434bhp.

No prices for the new Macan yet, but expect Porsche to take the opportunity to raise them a bit.
