New Renault Grand Scenic arrives with BIG wheels and Crossover styling

The 2017 Renault Grand Scenic has been revealed with a look that’s more SUV/Crossover than MPV. Goes on sale in the UK late 2016.

The new Renault Scenic arrived a few months ago, and came with styling that moved it towards the SUV end of the design spectrum, and away from its compact MPV roots.

Now, Renault is playing the same game with the Scenic’s big brother – the new Renault Grand Scenic – which also tries to be a bit of a faux SUV/Crossover.

You can’t blame Renault – MPVs are far from fashionable – and the change of design brief might just help sales, and fortunately it doesn’t look too bad at all.

The new Grand Scenic is longer and wider than the current model, rides higher and has more space inside, with shorter overhangs at the back, a diffuser, L-shaped tail lights and sculpted flanks. There’s also a two-tone paint job on offer.

Available with five or seven seats, the Grand Scenic looks well-equipped, with an R-Link 2 8.7″ tablet screen, colour heads-up display, Bose surround sound, Easy Park Assist, Emergency Braking, Pedestrian Detection and the option of a diesel hybrid as well as petrol and diesel options.

Renault say the new Grand Scenic will go on sale at UK dealers before the end of 206, but they haven’t yet decided on prices. The current Grand Scenic costs from £22,695.
