The new Skoda Kodiaq SUV – Skoda’s new seven-seat ‘off-roader’ – will come with a choice of five engines and four trim levels when it hits the UK in early 2017.
The wraps came off the Skoda Kodiaq SUV just as few weeks ago, but Skoda has already worked out the Kodiaq’s prices, specs and engine options for the UK, and it all starts at a reasonable £21,495, a useful chunk less than competition like the Hyundai Santa Fe and Nissan X-Trail.Engine choices for the Kodiaq in the UK are a trio of petrols and a pair of diesels, with a 123bhp 1.4 litre TSI with six speed manual ‘box and FWD kicking off the range in S trim.
That Kodiaq S comes with LED running lights, 17″ alloys, leather steering wheel, AirC on. Front Assist, Keyless, Swing Touchscreen Infotainment, DAB and Smartlink. Which, especially considering the £21,495 starting price, is more than reasonable.
Next up the Kodaiq tree comes the SE spec (from £22,945 to £28,545) which adds 18″ alloys, Cruise, Parking Sensors, Sunset Glass, Bolero Infotainment with 8″ touchscreen, dual-zone climate, auto lights and wipers and a seven seat option for an extra £1k.
What the SE also gets is a choice of engines (the S only comes with the 1.4 litre 123bhp TSI) including the 148bhp TSI and 2.0 litre diesel with 114bhp (not available at launch) or 148bhp.
The SE L (from £28,795 to 32,795) version also gets a 2.0 litre TSI with 178bhp and 188bhp diesel (which also come with a DSG ‘box and 4WD) option (but not the lowest power petrol and diesel) and adds seven seats, power tailgate, 19″ alloys, Columbus Sat Nav, WiFi, Drive Mode, Alcantara/Leather trim, heated front seats and LED headlights.
As well as the three familiar trim levels there’s also a Kodiaq Edition (from £30,895 to £34,895), which takes the SE L and adds posher 19″ alloys, leather, metallic paint, chrome roof rails, Lane Assist, Adaptive Main Beam, wireless charging and Blind Spot detection.
The new Skoda Kodiaq SUV will officially go on sale at Skoda’s UK dealers in November, with first deliveries not expected until April 2017.
