Peugeot 308 gets updated with new styling and new engines

The Peugeot 308 has been given a raft of updates for the 2018 model year, including new sharper sty;ling and Peugeot’s latest range of engines.

It’s more than three years since the current Peugeot 308 went on sale in the UK, and it’s proved to be one of the best offerings from Peugeot in a very long time. In fact, the 308 GTi 270 is, arguably, the most rounded hot hatch you can buy.

But three years on it’s time for a refresh, so Peugeot is rolling out an updated 308 for the 2018 model year with sharper styling and an updated range of new powertrains.

The 308 gets a new bonnet with new grille, the lower bumper grilles change to deliver more aggressive openings, new elliptical headlights get LED running lights and the tail lights display a three-claw signature.

The impressive Peugeot i-cockpit gets Mirror Screen to integrate your smartphone, the 3D Sat Nav connects to TomTom for traffic updates, there’s active safety brake, adaptive lane departure and adaptive cruise, and Visiopark 1 with its 180° rear camera and park assist.

On the engine front, the very good three-cylinder petrol gets upgraded for higher efficiency, and a new six-speed manual box aids that efficiency.

Also on offer is the new BlueHDi 130 S&S, as well as the BlueHDi 180 S&S which is only available in the 308 GT and can be had with a new EAT8 automatic gearbox.

The updated Peugeot 308 range (the 308 SW Estate and 308 GTi receive similar updates) is available for delivery in the UK from September.
