Porsche Carrera GT Wallpaper

The Porsche Carrera GT was launched in 2004 as a limited edition Porsche Supercar. Utilising a 5.7 litre V10 Engine (based on a Le Mans prototype Porsche made a decade before) it develops 603 bhp and can do 0-60mph in 3.5 seconds, with a top speed of  205mph.

Porsche originally planned on  building 1500 Porsche Carrera GTs, but in fact only 1270 were actually built, with almost half of these going to the US.

Just five standard colours were available on the Carrera GT (although Porsche would produce special paint finishes on request) and all featured a six speed manual ‘box and a base list price of $444,000 + tax. The limited production of the Porsche Carrera GT has helped it retain much of its value – a 2004 Carrera GT would still command in the region of $350,000.

Power to weight ratio was very good (around 437bhp per ton) thanks in part to the carbon fibre monocoque. All Porsche Carrera GTs featured big carbon ceramic brakes and an automatic rear wing.
