Ahead of its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show next month, we have video of the Porsche Macan out testing in the deserts of Dubai.

With Porche’s baby Cayenne – the new Porsche Macan – due to make its public debut in production guise at the Los Angeles Auto Show next month, Porsche has been busy building up interest in what should be their biggest seller in the years to come.
The Macan is barely disguised in the video, although there’s still some camouflage at the front and back making the Macan look more like the Cayenne than we expect the production version to be.
Despite its underpinning from Audi – not renowned for the ability of its SUVs to actually tackle real rough stuff – Porsche seem to be building up the Macan as being as surprisingly able as its big brother – the Porsche Cayenne – off road.
If the Macan turns out to be sensibly priced, very able on road – with, as expected, a wide range of powerplants from humble diesels to 360bhp Turbo petrol versions – it could actually provide a real threat to the Range Rover Evoque (apart from in looks).
No doubt we’ll be getting more on the new Porsche Macan between now and its L.A. debut.
