SEAT has decided to bolt a small shed on the back of the Leon Cupra for added practicality, and in the process has created the fastest estate car ever produced by the Spanish car maker – the SEAT Leon ST Cupra.
In all the ways that matters, the Leon ST Cupra is just like its hatchback sibling, with the same 276bhp 2.0 litre turbo four-cylinder petrol engine – although its 0-62mph is down ny 0,2s to 6.0 seconds – and decent economy of 42.8mpg, as long as you don’t use the power on offer (which you will).
The ST also gets a front axle locking diff that can send all the power to whichever axle needs it when required, a set of 18″ alloys, 5.8″ toucscreen, ambient lighting and Cupra Drive Profile.
The Leon ST Cupra can be mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed DSG gearbox and buyers will also be able to option a Performance Pack that adds bigger Brembo brakes, 19″ alloys and side skirts.
The SEAT Leon ST Cupra will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March and go on sale in the UK shortly after. Expect prices to be around £1500 more than the Leon Cupra hatch.
