The updated and facelifted 2020 Jaguar F-Type is due to be revealed in a few days, but we have the first photo of the new F-Type a bit ahead of its debut.
We’ve know for some time there’s an updated Jaguar F-Type on the way as Jaguar tries to give their now rather old sports car a bit of a sales boost, and Jaguar announced just this week that the new F-Type will be revealed on 2 December.
But, as with all the best-laid plans in the age of the Interwebs, the surprise of how the new F-Type looks has had the edge removed by a leak of what appear to be official photos of the new F-Type, which have cropped up on social media this morning (above).
They show a new F-Type with a distinctly restyled front end, which, to our eyes, has more than a hint of Audi R8 to it, with a bigger grille, new headlights and bumper and an altogether more ‘family’ look for the F-Type.
Round the back is less different, although there are new lights and some new panel shapes, but, certainly from the back, the new F-Type looks much more of an evolution of the F-Type than anything radical.
We’ll have to wait for the debut in a couple of days to see exactly what Jaguar has done to the F-Type’s interior, but expect higher quality materials, digital instruments and JLR’s latest infotainment.
Under the bonnet it now seems increasingly unlikely Jaguar are going to deliver the new F-Type with a BMW V8, instead focusing on the new straight-six Jaguar engines and four-pot offerings.
All will be revealed officially – and complete with a Hot Wheels stunt – on 2 December 2019.

Looks a lot lot better, I hope they are not doing their usual trick of making theirs look better and better just before they decide to stop producing them.
