Top Gear play with the Noble M600 and set up an art exhibition tonight

Top Gear returns to BBC2 tonight for episode 5 of series 14, putting on ‘Car Art’ exhibition in Middlesbrough and playing with the Noble M600.

Time again for the reminder that Top Gear is on the box tonight.

Actually, this series has been all over the place, what with changing times and missed weeks, so unless you’ve got it on Sky+ it’s going to be easy to miss. Most of the shows have been on at 9pm but if you tune in for then tonight you may just catch the closing credit. It actually starts at the regular Top Gear time of 8pm.

So what are the boys up to this week? On the face of it an extension of a previous feature with the TG boys using cars as a work of art. Didn’t we have an episode a couple of series ago with the team trying to convince art experts that cars were works of art? Anyway, tonight is about putting on an exhibition in an art gallery in Middlesbrough to see if the Top Gear ‘Car Art’ exhibition drags in more punters to the gallery than a regular art exhibition. So expect mayhem and weird and wonderful ways to encourage the public to come along.

On the car front Jeremy is out playing with the new Noble M600. As we reported back in August, the latest Noble has gone upmarket and carries a price tag of £200k. True, it does have supercar performance with all its power options – 450bhp, 550bhp and 650bhp – but in the 650bhp version it will hit 60mph in 3 seconds and top out at 225mph.

With no ESP or ABS Jeremy is going to have to remember how to drive a real car.
