Vauxhall’s new hot Insignia – the Vauxhall Insignia VXR – turned up at the Goodwood Festival of Speed at the weekend as a prelude to its launch – as both the Insignia VXR and the Insignia VXR Sports Tourer – in UK showrooms in September, and Vauxhall has now released prices and details.
We first brought you details on the Vauxhall Insignia VXR back in April, before its launch at Barcelona in May. Delivering 325bhp in a handsome four door package, the Insignia VXR offers adaptive four wheel drive and electronic limited slip diff with HiPerStrut technology to tame torque steer.
The 2.8 litre twin scroll turbocharged ECOTEC offers the 0-60 sprint in 5.8 seconds and on to a limited 155mph. Well equipped and good looking, the Insignia VXR is a tempting car.
If you need to lug stuff around as well as have fun, Vauxhall are also releasing the Vauxhall Insignia VXR Sports Tourer, which we reported on in May. The Sports Tourer is a stylish, swoopy estate version of the Insignia VXR in a contemporary and stylish package. Much more like the Mondeo Estate or even an Audi Avant than a traditional Vauxhall Estate, the Insignia VXR ST is, if anything, more striking than its saloon sibling.
As you would expect, Vauxhall has issued us with a heap of information on the Insignia VXR, which you can read in the Vauxhall Insignia VXR UK Press Release.
Delivery starts in the UK in September, with prices from £30,995.
