The Volkswagen Passat Estate R-Line Edition is a new limited run of the newly facelifted Passat with high-end spec and top end engines.

The Volkswagen Passat is heading for the Geneva Motor Show this month with a few titivations for 2019, so VW has decided what’s needed is a limited run, high-end Passat to showcase the changes – the Volkswagen Passat Estate R-Line Edition.

The Passat Estate R-Line Edition is limited to just 2,000 units, and the only engines you can have are the most powerful petrol and diesel options in the new Passat range.

That means either the 2.0 TDI with 237bhp or the 2.0 litre TSI with 268bhp, both with standard 4Motion four-wheel drive, DSG dual-clutch gearbox and Dynamic Chassis Control. You’ll also be able to turn off the DSC to go and play.

Cosmetic titivations include a new Moonstone Grey paint job with gloss black highlights, roof spoiler, roof rails, darkened LED tail lights and 19″ Pretoria alloys.

Inside there’s a 12.3″ Digital Cockpit display and 9.2″ Infotainment screen, leather sports seats, ambient lighting, 360 camera and wireless connection for Apple CarPlay.

Other goodies in the standard spec include VW’s Travel Assist for a degree of autonomous driving and LED matrix headlights.
