Volkswagen T-ROC SUV teased on video
The new Volkswagen T-ROC Compact SUV is teased on video as VW’s new entry in to the SUV market nears its debut on 23 August.
We had a tease for the new VW T-ROC – VW’s new SUV which will sit beneath the Tiguan – at the start of the month. But as the reveal of the new T-ROC nears – it will be live-streamed on 23 August, ahead of a public debut at Frankfurt – VW has rolled out a video tease (below) revealing, in snippets, much of the T-ROC.
What it show is a T-ROC not that far removed from the Concept we saw at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, with a full width grille blending in to LED headlights, a strong shoulder line, a coupe roof and an interior which uses the body colour to deliver a funkier look than we’re used to from VW.
Sitting under VW’s new look is a lot of the Audi Q2, and to all intents and purposes it’s probably best to think of the T-Roc as a Golf SUV; it’ll have a similar footprint, borrow most of its engines from the Golf and tap in to buyers deserting hatches for SUVs.
Just like the Golf, the T-ROC is expected to come with front-wheel drive as the default, but bigger engine, bigger spec models are likely to be offered with VW’s 4MOTION 4WD.
But for more detail on that we’ll have to wait until the official reveal of the T-ROC next week.
