Volvo launches a new online car buying service, claiming it’s the UK’s most comprehensive online new car buying option available.
More and more car makers are starting to offer full online buying capabilities for their cars, although we’re not entirely sure they do much more than form part of a new buyer’s research at this stage. Although that’s bound to change.
Now it’s Volvo’s turn to join in with the online new car buying trend with a new service claimed to be the UK’s most comprehensive and, probably crucially (at least for now), without alienating their dealer network.
Volvo promise you can build your new car, get live updates on price and finance costs as you add options, sort out finance and get a part exchange price for your new car all in 20 minutes.
There are cars available from stock, or you can spec and order to suit, with all deals – and ultimately pricing too – linked to a Volvo dealer.
Jon Wakefield, Volvo’s UK MD, said:
Whether online or offline, the way people buy cars has changed. Customers now have much more control over the process, and Volvo Online helps them to take that one step further.
It makes life as easy as possible without compromising on choice or security, and lets customers drive the purchase process when it’s most convenient for them.
Although now up and running (jump over to Volvo’s online sales page), it is a bit of a work in progress.
For the next week or so you’ll only be able to buy the XC40, with other models becoming available from 3 May. And you won’t actually be able to complete a finance deal with a eSign until later in 2019.
