Volkswagen have been busy adding the Sport R-Line specification across their range, and the latest to get the R-Line spec is the Passat CC.
So far VW has managed to add an R-Line model to the Golf, Scirocco, Touran, Tiguan, Passat Variant and Touareg and of course to the regular Passat offerings with the Passat R-Line being introduced on the saloon and Estate back in May. And now we get the VW Passat CC R-Line.
Sadly – as with all recent R-Line offerings – we’re not getting power improvements but just a cosmetic job. Still, that seems to be more imprortant to buyers than the power upgrades in these odd times, and we have to admit that the R-Line spec is appealing. It does make VWs look far more purposeful without looking silly, as we found when we recently reviewed the Tiguan R-Line.
The Passat CC R-Line gets R-Line “Mallory” alloy wheels with 235/45 tyres (18″ optional), the usual R-Line badging, front spoiler and side skirts. The rear light lenses also get smoked. Inside the Passat CC R-Line gets Ali tread plates with R-Line logos, multi-function leather wheel and the ubiquitous ‘R’ logos splashed around. You also get a set of fogs and VW’s ‘Park Pilot’ system.
The R-Line option is available across the Passat CC model range and adds around £2,000 to the price.

Just been enquiring about this, VW have confirmed that they don’t envisage there will be demand for the Passat CC Rline in the UK and won’t be putting it on sale – gutted!!
