The Audi Black Edition - available on A4 and A5
Audi has announced a Black Edition for the A4 and A5 offering trendy gloss black cosmetics and upgraded wheels plus a new trim level for the A4 – the Audi A4 Technik.
The whole ‘Black Edition’ thing is a big seller at the moment. We had Jaguar launch the Black Pack for the XKR a couple of months ago and yesterday slapped a Black Pack on the XF. And now Audi want to play with the announcement of an Audi A4 Black Edition and an Audi A5 Black Edition.
Just like the Jags, the Black Edition Audi is a visual enhancement to an already sporty version of the car, in Audi’s case the S-Line versions of the A4 and A5. The Black Edition can be slapped on any Audi A4 saloon or Avant S-Line or the A5 Coupe and comprises gloss black grill surround, foglight surround and numberplate surround together with 19″ titanium-finish alloys.
Inside the Black Edition you get piano black trim and a B&O sound system with DAB and iPod connections. Opt for the A4 saloon and you’ll get Audi Parking Plus as well and on the Avant you’ll get Privacy Glass. Cost of the Black Edition is £1,250 which means the A4 with Black Edition starts at £27,220 and the A5 Black Edition at £31,175.
Audi has also announced the Technik spec for the A4 which adds Leather, DBD SatNav, Ipod Connection and Audi Parking System Plus to the SE spec. You can get the Technik spec on 2.0 and 3.0 litre diesels in saloon or Avant for an extra £915 over the SE. Which as the extras would normally cost you £2,600 you’d have to be a bit barking not to opt for the Techik spec.
Good set of offers to make the A4 and A5 more appealing.
