Details of the Porsche 911 GT2 RS have leaked after a private event in Leipzig. We have a grainy picture and performance and price details.

Not literally, you understand, but the details of the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS have found there way on to the interweb from that font of high-end help – Teamspeed.

The 911 GT2 RS – the last of the current generation (997) 911s to surface before we get an all new 911 in 2010 – was previewed for dealers and valued clients in Leipzig. Which probably means that at least one of Teamspeed’s members were at the event, hence the phote above and some gen on what the GT2 RS has to offer.

Based on the regular octane GT2, the GT2 RS will get 620bhp and a weight drop of 200lbs. There’ll be a fully adjustable suspension package, active aerodynamics and a roll cage. Performance is suitably stunning with a 0-60mph in 3.0 seconds and a rumoured Nurburgring time of 7.22. Which makes it quicker than a Carrera GT.

We’re told that Porsche are going to make just 300 GT2 RSs and that official details are due to be released in a couple of weeks.
