We have video of Marc Gene driving last year’s Ferrari F1 (F10) car up the hillclimb at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Goodwood is Disneyland for petrolheads, with the world’s greatest cars and greatest drivers wallowing in three days of high-octane worship at the alter of the internal combustion engine.
Everything from classic road cars to the latest F1 machinery crowd in to this glorious corner of England, safe in the knowledge that they are among friends; no global-warmists here wagging a condemnatory finger.
We’ll have a full round-up of the Goodwood Festival of Speed tomorrow – with a million photos – but as Ferrari has sent us video of Marc Gene taking last year’s Ferrai F1 (F10) car up the Goodwood hillclimb we thought it deserved some space all its own.
This particular Ferrari was driven by Fernando Alonso last year and achieved wins in Bahrain, Germany, Italy, Singapore and Korea, making it one of the most successful Formula One cars of 2010.
The noise off the line sends shivers up your spine, but Marc has to rein his car in for the first right-hander. He gives it the beans – most of them, anyway – as he goes up the hill past the house and, although he’s far from flat-out as he passes the flint wall, the sensation of speed is palpable.
Less than a minute of driving from start to the top of the hill, but worth every second of your time.

Great video. Looks far more dramatic seeing this F1 Ferrari going up the Goodwood hillclimb than it does in any number of boring F1 grands prix.
