2013 Kia cee’d Sportswagon price from £16,895

The new Kia cee’d Sportswagon (Estate) goes on sale in the UK today priced from £16,895 with engine and trim options as the cee’d.

Kia updated the cee’d – the car most know best from Top Gear’s SIARPC – earlier this year, and now we get the arrival of the estate version – the Kia cee’d Sportswagon – in UK Kia’s showrooms.

In all the ways that matter, the cee’d Sportswagon is simply the new cee’d with an extra bit bolted on the back.  But unlike the cee’d hatch, it looks like Kia are pitching the cee’d Sportswagon (which replaces the old cee’d SW in the UK) at company car drivers.

That means a choice of just diesel engines, with the entry point being the 1.4 CRDi with 89bhp and the more appealing option the 1.6 CRDi with 126bhp. The 1.4 CRDi will do 67.3mpg and the 1.6 CRDi 64.2mpg which means BIK rates of 15 and 16 per cent respectively.

Kia say the new cee’d Sportswagon is smaller than the competition – it’s just 15mm longer that the cee’d SW at 4.5 metres – but offers more lugging capacity – 528 litres with the seats up and 1642 with the seats down. The boot floor is flush with the tailgate opening and there’s under-floor storage and net hooks and a 12-volt power socket.

Trim levels are the same as the cee’d hatch with the catchily named 1,2,3 and 4 with ‘1’ getting a load cover, electric heated door mirrors, AirCon, daytime running lights, USB and Bluetooth, Hill Start and alloys on the 1.6 CRDi.

Move up to trim ‘2’ and you can add LED running lights, electric folding mirrors, leather steering wheel, more chrome, Cruise and parking sensors at the back. Trim ‘3’ adds Privacy, Auto lights and wipers, Climate, SatNav and reversing camera

Top of the tree trim ‘4’ and ‘4 Tech’  throw in luggage area rail and partition system, 17″ alloys, heated steering wheel, electronic parking brake, keyless and upgraded centre console with ‘4 Tech’ adding panoramic roof, memory driver’s seat, parking assist, Lane Departure warning and adaptive xenons.

The new Kia cee’d Sportswagon is on sale from today.
