2014 Peugeot 5008 gets a bit of a facelift

The Peugeot 5008 MPV has been given a bit of a facelift for 2014, with styling tweaks and additional equipment and prices from £18,800.

You’d expect an MPV from Peuegot to be a bit of a soggy, boring drive, but actually the Peugeot 5008 MPV is not bad at all. But the problem has been that the 5008 isn’t exactly the best looking kid on the block.

But Peugeot has now fixed a lot of that by bringing the 5008 up to date with Peugeot’s new family nose as part of a mid-life facelift for the 5008.

The 2014 Peugeot 5008 now comes with the same nose as the 208 and 2008 – a much better looking front end than the old one – complete with new headlights with LED running lights and some chrome trim for the fogs.

There’s also a choice of nine colours, including the new Rich Oak and Artense Grey, along with extra chrome trim and new 16-18″ alloys.

Prices have gone up a bit – £200 on Access, £300 on Active and £350 on Allure – but the extra kit more than outweighs the additional cost.

Prices start at £18,800 for the ACCESS 1.6-litre VTi 120bhp petrol, with the entry-level diesel the 1.6-litre HDi FAP 115bhp at £20,495. New options include the addition of a reversing camera to the park assist and a heads-up display.

The diesel options for the 5008 are 1.6-litre e-HDi FAP 115bhp (auto or manual), 2.0-litre HDi FAP 150bhp with manual ‘box and 2.0-litre HDi FAP 163bhp with auto, whilst petrol options are the 1.6-litre VTi 120bhp or the 1.6-litre THP 156bhp.

It’s a decent offering from Peugeot and makes the 5008 an even better choice for families that need its seven seats to transport their brood.
