The new 2016 Nissan Navara NP300 pick-up is about to go on sale in the UK, and we have specifications and prices for the model range costing from £18,376 to £24,293.
The 2016 Nissan Navara NP300 pick-up for the UK was revealed in August (although that’s a year after the rest of the world, which got the NP300 in 2014), and it’s still going to be the New Year before it arrives in Nissan’s UK showrooms. But, if you want a pick-up that does work and play, the NP300 was probably worth the wait. The first choice you need to make is Double Cab or King Cab. But really, with the Double Cab coming with more room and refinement – not least proper coil suspension instead of the King Cab’s cart leaf setup – an extra £833.00 (+VAT) for the Double Cab version is a sensible spend (unless you want a pure workhorse).
Next you need to choose how much power you want from the NP300 – either 158bhp or 187bhp from the new 2.3 litre dCi – whether you want a diff lock (£417.00) or auto ‘box (£1,471.00), and whether you want 2WD or 4WD. But as you should ignore the King Cab with its cart leaf springs it’s not something you need worry about – 2WD is only available on the entry-level King Cab at £18,376.
Having decided all that you now need to pick a trim level. And just because the Navara is a commercial doesn’t mean you don’t have choice – in fact, you have a choice of Visia, Acenta, Acenta+, N-Connecta and Tekna.
Even the entry-level Visia (from £18,376+VAT) comes with Air Con, Bluetooth, Auto lights and Cruise, and the next rung up Acenta (from £19,834+VAT) adds 16″ alloys and Keyless. The Acenta+ (from £22,084 and starting point for the 187bhp engine) gets 18″ alloys, Climate, reversing camera, side steps and privacy glass.
Opting for the new N-Connecta (from £22,793+VAT) gets you the NissanConnect 2.0 Sat Nav and entertainment system with DAB, and the range-topping NP300 Tekna (from £24,293+VAT) gives you leather, parking sensors, heated front seats, LED headlights and Around View Monitor.
In fact, the Navara NP300 Tekna – even at almost £30k including VAT – will, with its new suspension and plenty of toys, give you most of the refinement of an SUV but with (potentially) appealing tax breaks.
The 2016 Nissan Navara NP300 will arrive in Nissan’s UK showrooms in January.
