
2016 Toyota Prius goes on sale in the UK
Toyota has revealed price and specification details for the fourth generation 2016 Prius, with Active, Business and Excel models. Costs from £23,295.
The fourth generation Toyota Prius arrived at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, and it now goes on sale in the UK costing from £23,295 for the Active model, rising to £27,450 for the top spec Excel.
All Prius models now come with LED headlights, electric driver’s seat, Smart Entry, Touch 2 multimedia with DAB and Safety Sense Package as well as a new Air Con system that detects if there’s a front seat passenger and automatically adjust the vents.
2016 Prius – Active, Business and Excel trim options
The Prius Active (from £23,295) gets 15″ alloys, Adaptive Cruise, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Alert and Auto High Beam, with the Business Edition (from £24,195) adding soft-touch trim in the cabin, wireless phone charger, heads-up display, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Heated Front Seats and leather steering wheel.
You can also bolster the Business Edition spec by opting for Business Edition Plus (from £25,995) which adds in 17″ alloys, Touch 2 with Go for Sat Nav and connectivity, Intelligent Park Assist and parking sensors all round, with the top of the tree Prius Excel (from £27,450) throwing in Leather, JBL Sound, Auto wipers and added functionality for the Touch 2 System.
New Prius colours and new Option Packs
It’s a good range of specifications for the new Prius, although all the added kit does see prices rise by £1,300 on the entry-level model, and there are also seven new colours – including Hypersonic Red – with interior cloth choices limited to Cool Grey or Black and leather offered in Cool Grey with black sections or Black with contrast blue stitching.
If you want to add more goodies to your Prius, Toyota is offering a number of Option Packs including the Parking Pack (350.00) which adds parking sensors all round, Protection Pack (£300,00) which includes stuff like boot liner and scuff plates and a Black of Chrome Pack for cosmetic titivation. You can also add from a range of in-car entertainment.
The 2016 Toyota Prius is now on sale at Toyota’s UK dealers, with first deliveries expected in March 2016.

Once again Toyota UK see fit to limit customer choice to just two interior colours, grey and Black. How dull! US customers get so much more choice than we do. Toyota UK need a kick up the backside!
