2018 Mercedes C-Class Coupe and Cabriolet FACELIFT
The Mercedes C-Class Coupe and Cabriolet get a facelift – matching the recent facelift for the C-Class Saloon and Estate – ahead of a reveal at the New York Motor Show.
Last month, Mercedes revealed a mid-life facelift for the C-Class saloon and estate and now, ahead of a debut at the New York Motor Show, the C-Class Coupe and Cabriolet get pretty much the same treatment. That means new bumpers and lights, a new diamond grille for the AMG Line models, Multibeam headlights, new colours, new digital cockpit and a tweak or three for the engine and model line-up.
To kick off sales after its NY debut, engine options will be the 1.5 litre C 200, with FWD or RWD, the single diesel option is the C 220d and the AMG C 43, which gets the same 23bhp lift as the saloon and estate.
The engine tweaks mean the C 200 gets an EQ boost to deliver an extra 14bhp to the 1.5’s 181bhp aimed at eliminating any turbo lag, and the C 220d acquires an additional 23bhp but is more economical too.
Inside, the new C-Class Coupe and Cabriolet can be optioned with a 12.2″ digital display to replace the regular analogue dials, which merges with the 10.25″ central touchscreen as well as touch sensitive control buttons on the steering wheel.
It looks like Mercedes has dropped the Sport trim for the UK – probably because the AMG Line is so popular – so entry-level prices will be more.
The 2018 Mercedes C-Class Coupe and Cabriolet go on sale in the UK next month, after the New York debut, with first customer cars arriving in the summer.
