2018 Nissan Qashqai now with ProPILOT - and a Qashqai Pilot One Edition Special Version too

Nissan Qashqai Pilot One Edition Special Version heralds the arrival of ProPILOT on the Qashqai

The 2018 Nissan Qashqai is now available with Nissan’s ProPILOT driver assistance technology, and there’s a Qashqai Pilot One Edition to herald its arrival.

We’re currently running a long-term test and review of the Nissan Qashqai, and it’s turning out to be a very complete and able car.

It’s well-equipped and has plenty of stuff to make the daily driving chore as easy as possible, but although it comes with Cruise, it doesn’t have the ProPILOT semi-autonomous technology promised for the facelift.

But now Nissan is fixing that with the arrival of a ProPILOT option for the 2018 Qashqai, and a new special version to celebrate its arrival – the Qashqai Pilot One Edition.

Available as an option on the Tekna and Tekna+ models (it costs £795) with the dCi 130 diesel and auto gearbox, Pro-Pilot is a first step to autonomous driving, but its still very much a hands on and eyes open technology.

But it is easy to use and does make driving less arduous, with a simple press of the button on the steering wheel setting the speed, with ProPILOT then maintaining the set speed, slowing down if traffic does and accelerating back up to the set speed and even bringing the car to a halt if traffic stops.

Ryan Gains, Nissan’s General Manager for Crossovers in Europe, said:

Also on offer is a £495 Driver Assist Package which delivers Intelligent Lane Intervention, Intelligent Cruise and Lance Keep Assist, and there’s a Qashqai Pilot One Edition too.

The Pilot One Edition is based on the Tekna+ spec and includes ProPILOT, Storm White paint, Premium Plum Nappa leather, Xtronic Sports pedals, Chrome bits and ‘Pilot One’ entry guards and badging. It costs from £33,380.

ProPILOT for the Qashqai is now available on all new orders from Nissan’s UK dealers.
