2018 Renault Zoe EV – it’s PURPLE and more powerful
The Renault Zoe – Europe’s best-selling electric car – gets a more powerful electric motor for 2018 along with Android compatibility and a new Purple paint job.
Renault say the Zoe EV is Europe’s best-selling electric car, so the updates for 2018 Renault has announced should help it maintain that crown.Top of the list is a new electric motor, an electric motor which is the same size as in the current Zoe but increases in power from 91bhp to 107bhp.
Renault say it doesn’t make any difference to the 0-62mph times (still a slightly lethargic 13.5 seconds) but does cut the 50-75mph time by 2.0 seconds making for a more comfortable cruise.
As well as dropping in a more powerful electric motor, Renault has also fitted the 2018 Zoe with R-LINK Evolution, which means you’ll be able to use Android Apps on your phone on the Zoe’s infotainment screen.
You’ll also be able to make a statement with a new metallic purple paint job – Renault call it Aconite – and Prince fans can even go a step further with a Purple Interior Pack on Dynamique Nav versions and above which includes violet stain finishes around the cabin as well as black and violet fabric upholstery.
Elisabeth Delval, Renault Zoe Assistant Programme Director, said:
Thanks to this power boost, ZOE is even more responsive and versatile when used for journeys out of town. In addition to being able to enjoy the pleasure of driving a ZOE, drivers will also benefit from the longest range available for a mass-market electric car.
The 2018 Renault Zoe will debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month, with order books opening at Renault’s UK dealers in the spring.
