We have two new videos from BMW of the new M3 GTS, including a track visit, a test drive and some slow-motion shots of the new, lightweight M3.
On Wednesday we reported on the reveal of the BMW M3 GTS, a track-focused, stripped-out and lightweight BMW M3. It will deliver at least 450bhp from its 4.4 litre V8, all of which will be driven through the rear wheels by a 7-speed M Dual Clutch Transmission (M-DCT).
Apart from the obvious orange paint job, the M3 GTS gets a very seventies looking rear wing bolted to the boot. But this retro-spoiler can be adjusted for perfect performance, as can the front splitter.
The suspension in the GTS gets upgraded and includes yellow springs for a threaded suspension with the rear axles bolted in place. Carbon fibre is brought in for the roof and other body parts and this, together with the bare bones interior sees a weight drop of 420lbs on the standard M3.
Huge performance is likely, but BMW aren’t giving much away at all. What they have done is sent us videos – which you can see below – which give a pretty good indication of what’s on offer.
The BMW M3 GTS will launch in May 2010 and cost over £100,000.
