Bentley has revealed that the list price for the 2010 Mulsanne will be £220,000 OTR in the UK, with production starting in the Spring and first UK customer cars by the Summer.
As is always the case with new cars, we got dribbles of information on the new Bentley Mulsanne during its ‘Reveal’ gestation. Despite a physical reveal at Pebble Beach for the Mulsanne, we still didn’t get all the goodies on the oily bits. We had to wait until the Mulsanne went to Frankfurt in September for that, but even then we didn’t get a price.
But with production dues to start in the Spring (2010) and first customer cars due in the Summer, Bentley has finally announced that the 2010 Mulsanne will cost £220,000 OTR, taxes included, in the UK. Which is about where we’d expected and sits between the new Rolls Royce Ghost and the RR Phantom.
Mind you, I can’t see that many Mulsannes rolling out to customers at list price. The options list on a Bentley is almost endless, in addition to which there are 114 standard paint colours, 21 carpet colours, 9 choices of venner and 25 lethers. That’s before you start on Bentley’s ‘Bespoke’ service, which will match the paint job on your new Mulsanne to anything you like; your handbag, your favourite pair of socks, the wife’s current hair colour, the dog’s belly…
Bentley has also revealed that they have had enough serious intent shown on the new Mulsanne by potential owners to sell out 2010 production before its starts, which has got be good news. The Mulsanne didn’t receive universal praise for its styling when it launched (although we think it’s a great interpretation of Bentley for the 21st century), so they must be chuffed to see that buyers are queueing up.
And of course this means we should get our hands on a new Mulsanne in the Spring. Can’t wait.

Never mind giving the price for Denmark. At 725,437.05 GBP including taxes i doubt the market very big. Ouch.
DAVE MORRISON says
Print the price in dollars. AMERICANS will be reading this stuff AND buying the cars!

Dave – we always try to give our readers on both sides of the Pond the information relating to their market. When we wrote this piece Bentley had only released prices for the UK. But they now have for the US and the start price is $285,000. But you’re right – we should have updated the article with US prices too.
