The Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon / Estate. Video walk-through below
Cadillac have put together a walk-through video of their latest CTS-V – the Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon. That’s CTS-V Estate to us.
Even though we haven’t had a Cadillac CTS-V to play with, we still love it. We know those who have and the feedback is the same – American muscle with Euro handling finesse. Which sounds to us like an addictive combination. Perhaps not in terms of the interior – which is often the biggest quality let down in an American car – but certainly in terms of the performance and handling. Especially at the price.
You get 6.2 litres of American muscle, which is sufficient to deliver a sub 4 second 0-60 mph. That’s faster than an Aston Martin V12 Vantage. And the V12 Vantage is Aston Martin’s quickest car (unless you count the One-77). And you can have that power wrapped up in a standard saloon car, a two door coupe or now – the latest iteration – the Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon – a CTS-V Estate, to the rest of us
An Estate with power is something we ‘Get’ on this side of the pond. Think Audi RS6 Avant. Mercedes E63 AMG Estate. BMW M5 Estate. The Americans don’t seem to, although if anything is going to change their minds then the CTS-V Estate will. But this video of Cadillac walking us through the promise of the CTS-V Sport Wagon is not only a good way to get Joe Public in the US on-side but give those of us who already ‘get’ the CTS-V a teaser.
Or maybe Cadillac aren’t really trying top get the US buyers on-side. Maybe the CTS-V Estate is aimed completely at this side of the pond to give Cadillac a real hal0 car for their re-entry in to the European and UK market.
Mind you, first there has to be a Cadillac Dealer Network. Which so far there doesn’t appear to be. Unless we missed it.
