The 2013 Range Rover has been given its public debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show and takes centre stage on the Land Rover stand.

We know, for example, that the new Range Rover weighs as much as 420kg less than the current model, that it comes with a choice not just of a 4.4 litre V8 diesel and 5.0 litre supercharged 5.0 litre V8 – as in the current model – but also get a new 3.0 litre diesel option. Which, thanks to all that weight loss, is as quick – and far more economical – than the 4.4 V8 diesel was in the current model.
We also know that the new Range Rover will come in the same spec levels as the old model – Vogue, Vogue SE and Autobiography – and that the interior has been re-worked to make it far more contemporary but still very much Range Rover, and it gets a chunk more room in the back. Despite knowing most of what there is to know about the new Range Rover – except how it drives – in the flesh it’s even more imposing than we expected. It looks like the current Range Rover, just a few notches up on the appeal scale. And that’s impressive. The interior is suitably impressive too and it all looks beautifully bolted together.
If it is – and its as good to drive as Land Rover say – the 2013 Range Rover will be unbeatable.
