The new Hyundai Ioniq 6 EV finally goes on sale in the UK, with prices from £33,240 after securing the Electric Car Grant.
It’s been less than four years since the Hyundai Ioniq 6 went on sale in the UK as a follow-up to the retro-inspired Ioniq 5 and taking aim at the Tesla Model 3, so it was a bit of a surprise to see it given an early overhaul and a facelift last year. That facelift saw a new front end for the Ioniq 6 with a new set of DLRs above the bumper and the main headlights below, delivering a sleeker look, with new alloys and lower skirts and the odd rear spoiler replaced by a ducktail job. Inside, there was a new steering wheel and higher-quality materials, a revised centre console and improved Climate controls.
It’s now eighteen months since the facelifted 6 was revealed, and there’s been no sign of it going on sale in the UK. But now it is, and it turns out the reason is that Hyundai has been working hard to get the Ioniq 6 the electric car grant, which it has now succeeded in doing.
That means the Ioniq 6 Premium RWD with 84kWh battery starts at just £33,240 after the £3,750 ECG and the Ioniq 6 N Line from £36,240. But prices jump a chunk as the other models don’t qualify, so the Ioniq 6 N Line 84kWh AWD costs from £43,490, the N Line Evo RWD from £43,270 and the N Line Evo AWD from £47,770.
The new IONIQ 6’s electrified streamliner look is more dynamic than ever, while enhanced specification and realigned pricing strengthen its appeal for customers seeking style, technology and value. The addition of the Government’s Electric Car Grant to IONIQ 6 makes this compelling package even more accessible.
The new Ioniq 6 is now on sale, with first customer deliveries due in the early New Year.
