It seems that plans by Porsche to build a saloon car to sit below the Panamera are still on track as Porsche look to take on cars like the M5 and XFR.

Porsche Panamera Junior (Porsche Pajun) still on the cards
The idea that Porsche would build a saloon to sit below the Panamera have been on the cards almost as long as the Panamera has been with us.
Now, Porsche boss Matthias Muller has all but confirmed to Autocar that the ‘Pajun’ is under serious consideration, although the logistics of building a ‘volume’ model like the Pajun is a tough logistical ask as Porsche has just gone through that exercise to produce the Porsche Macan.
But just like the Macan, which looks set to add big volumes top Porsche sales, a smaller Panamera that could take sales from cars like the BMW M5, Mercedes E63 AMG, Jaguar XFR and Maserati Ghibli seems too good an opportunity for Porsche to pass on.
Assuming Porsche do go with a production Pajun, it will probably be built on a shorter version of the VW Group MSB platform that will underpin the next generation Panamera and other high-end VW Group cars, and come with a similar range of engines to the new Macan.
It looks like a racing certainty.
