The Worthersee Show is looming at the end of May, and we can expect some extreme and mad concepts from the VW Group queuing up for attention. And among those will be this, the Audi A3 Clubsport Quattro Concept.
All that power in a small and relatively light car (the S3 Clubsport tips the scales at 1527kg) means impressive performance, with 0-62mph taking a scant 3.6 seconds and top speed over 190mph with the power going to all four wheels through a 7-speed S tronic ‘box and launch control too to make sure you can get the most out of the Clubsport when you need to.
Other mechanical tweaks include lowered suspension which has been tweaked for sportier handling and a set of 21″ alloys covering carbon ceramic brakes.
Cosmetically, the A3 Clubsport gets a butch body kit with CFRP for the bonnet, sills and front blade and a big diffuser between twin pipes at the back, Matric LED headlights and a Magnetic Blue paint job.
There seem to be no plans to put the A3 Clubsport in to production, but if Audi thinks it fills a niche they may not yet have expoited anything’s possible.
The 2014 Wörthersee Meeting in Reifnitz runs from May 28–31.
