Infiniti – Nissan’s luxury arm – is teasing a new concept for the Paris Motor Show, but all we have is a photo of the Infiniti’s grill. So what could it be?
With the 2014 Paris Motor Show arriving at the end of September, car makers are beginning to roll out teases for their new models, and it’s the turn of Infiniti to tease a new concept for the show. But they’ve not been exactly forthcoming with detail.
But we’re here to speculate, so let’s look at the possible options for a new Infiniti concept.
What it can’t be – because this Infiniti is a concept, not a production model – is the Infiniti version of the Mercedes A Class, because that was revealed last year as the Infiniti Q30. But it could be the Infiniti QX30, a new compact SUV/Crossover which we know Infiniti are planning and which will be built in the UK alongside the Q30.
It could also be that the mysterious concept is a replacement for the ageing QX70 (previously known as the FX) which is likely to be built on the underpinnings of the Mercedes ML, and give Infiniti a new range-topping SUV with proper credibility.
Our final thought is that perhaps this could be the Infiniti take on the Porsche Panamera.
Back in 2009, the Infiniti Essence Concept was revealed as an impressive-looking coupe with a 3.7 litre turbo V8 hybrid setup delivering almost 600bhp, which could be stretched a bit to make a Panamera-esque four-door coupe Infiniti to sit at the top of the Infiniti range.
Or, it could be something else all together.
