The SsangYong Tivoli has been revealed as the name for a new compact SsangYong SUV, due to launch in Korea in the new year and heading for the UK later in 2015.

The SsangYong Tivoli (pictured) arrives in 2015 as a B-segment SUV
Now Mahindra has put some wind back in to SsangYong’s sails by making its offerings more appealing, they’re set to take on the key small SUV/Crossover market with their take on the Nissan Juke – the SsangYong Tivoli.
All we have at the moment are the renderings of the Tivoli (above and below), but SsangYong say it has “the looks of a dynamic urban SUV with a modern silhouette…embracing the rhythmical motion of SsangYong’s new design language”. So now you know.
They wax lyrical about the interior being a ‘luxurious living space’ and boast of its style and practicality and its ease of connectivity, so they’re ticking all the boxes their target market want. Let’s see if the Tivoli meets SsangYong’s marketing-speak when it arrives.
As you’ve probably already worked out, SsangYong has named its little urban warrior after Tivoli in Italy, a name that’s said to give the new baby SUV international appeal.
Beyond the hype and the renderings, we’re expecting the new Tivoli to be a decent offering at prices likely to start from around £12.5k, with a limited choice of 1.6 litre petrol and diesel engines
And, if the rumours are right, it may be something other than a SsangYong when it arrives, as Mahindra are considering a name change for the brand, perhaps to ‘SSY’ (maybe M&M would suit better?).
