The Peugeot 308 GT – and the 308 GT SW (estate) – go on sale in the UK from £24,095 for the Hatch and £26,845 for the SW. First deliveries March 2015.

The Peugeot 308 GT arrived at the 2014 Paris Motor Show as the most powerful 308 to date. Not exactly a 308 GTi – or even a 308 R – but a step in the right direction from Peugeot as it seeks to grab sales from cars like the Ford Focus and VW Golf.
The petrol engine for the 308 GT is a 1.6 litre THP complete with twin-scroll turbo producing 202bhp and 210lb/ft of torque, enough for a 0-62mph of 7.5 seconds and quite impressive economy of 50.4mpg, but it’s only available on the 308 GT Hatch.
The diesel option, however, is available on both the Hatch and SW, with the 2.0 litre HDi delivering 176bhp and 295lb/ft of torque, good for a 0-62mph of 8.4 seconds and official economy of 70.6mpg.
Under the skin, Peugeot has pretty much used the same suspension as the 308S, which means it’s probably more focused on comfort than handling, although it has been lowered by 7mm at the front and 10mm at the back.
Standard equipment include 18″ alloys, the Driver Sport Pack (which gives stuff like a louder exhaust, red instrument illumination, extra instruments for stuff like power and torque and more responsive settings for engine, gearbox and suspension), Dynamic Cruise, Blind Sport Monitoring, Emergency Collision Alert and Braking.
Cosmetically, the 308 GT gets a tweaked front end with a relocated badge and LED headlights, new indicator lights, black door mirrors, bigger sills, black diffuser at the back and twin exhaust pipes, with the interior getting red stitching, black roof lining and aluminium detailing on the pedals.
The Peugeot 308 GT Hatch and Estate are now on sale, with the 308 GT 1.6 THP 205 costing £24,095, the 308 GT BlueHDi 180 £25,945 and the 308 GT BlueHDi 180 SW £26,845. First deliveries are expected in March 2015.
