New Caterham 270, 360 and 420 are the new heart of the Caterham range – price from £22,995.

Caterham has revealed three new models – the 270, 360 and 420 – with S and R equipment pack options. Costs from £22,995 to £29,995.

Caterham has revealed its new range for 2015, with the entry-level Seven 160 and range-topping 620R sandwiching the three new cars – the Caterham Seven 270, 360 and 420.

Unless you’re a Caterham anorak you might have to look quite closely to spot the differences between the three new cars as they all look just what they are – a take on the original Lotus Seven.

The Caterham Seven 270 (which costs from £22,995) get the latest 1.6 litre Ford Sigma engine with 135bhp, can get to 62mph in 5.0 seconds and replaces the old Roadsport 125.

Next up is the Caterham Seven 360 (from £26,995) which comes with the 2.0 litre Ford Duratec engine, good for 180bhp and 0-62mph in 4.8 seconds and, say Caterham, offers the perfect balance between road and track.

The most powerful of the new cars is the Seven 420 (from £29,995), which gets a dry-sump version of the 2.0 litre Ford Duratec engine delivering 210bhp and 0-62mph in 4.0 seconds.

That leaves the Seven 160 (from £18,995) and the 620 (from £49,995) as the bookends of the range.

Also on offer for the new Caterhams are a pair of equipment pack – the S Pack and R Pack – with the S Pack offering more creature comforts like proper carpets, proper windscreen, road suspension, 14″ alloys hood and side screens, a heater and leather seats.

The R Pack is aimed at those who want to go to the track with their cars and adds in stuff like 15″ Orcus alloys, revised rev counter, limited slip diff, Sports Suspension, carbon fibre dash, composite racing seats and four-point harnesses.
