Jaguar has revealed a deal with London Chauffeur firm Crawfords to take 50 XJ LWB Autobiography models to ferry its VIPs around.
In terms of a single order, 50 new Jaguar XJ LWB Autobiography models to one customer is something to shout about. Which is why JLR has revealed they’ve done exactly that, supplying London chauffeur firm Crawfords with 50 of its range-topping LWB XJs.Jaguar are trumpeting the deal as an indicator of Jaguar’s fleet success in the UK, and declaring it underlines that the 2016 XJ – with its goodies including heated and cooled rear seats, rear business tables and wi-fi – is the perfect car to chauffeur London’s business leaders and celebs from place to place.
We have no issue with the Jaguar XJ – in fact, we’ve praised it every time we’ve had one in for review, even the LWB XJ – but although it’s the best driver’s car in its class, it’s far from the best car to sit in the back of – even in LWB guise – thanks to its poor headroom.
Jimmy Lazarou, CEO of Crawfords, said:
Our business is to chauffeur the world’s most discerning people: from captains of industry, CEOs, business professionals, A-list celebrities, high net worth individuals and sporting personalities.
The Jaguar XJ LWB Autobiography offers everything that we could want; it is stylish, spacious and luxurious. With rear seat entertainment that includes twin high-definition screens, wi-fi and a host of connectivity for smartphones, not to mention soft Nappa leather seats and acres of space, the specification meets all of our clients expectations.
We’re sure Crawfords of London got a cracking deal from JLR, and even if the XJ really isn’t the best car to be chauffeur-drive in, Crawford’s drivers will be chuffed at the deal.
