The 2017 Ford Escape SUV – a preview of the Kuga facelift
For has announced they will reveal a new model at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on 22 February. Could this be the Ford Kuga facelift?
Ford is taking some of its new technology to the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on 22 February, and it’s also going to reveal a new model. But what is it?We can’t imagine Ford would use the Barcelona event to launch an all-new car (especially with the Geneva Motor Show just around the corner) so we’re expecting a facelift, and the most likely candidate has to be the Ford Kuga SUV.
We’ve already seen the facelift for the US version of the Kuga (the Ford Escape – pictured above) and it seems likely Ford are about to give the Kuga for the UK and Europe a similar makeover.
That will mean a new nose that takes its inspiration from the new Edge SUV (and looks very North American in the process), some interior titivations, including perhaps Ford’s SYNC3 and stuff like lane keep assist, an electronic handbrake and the latest park assist.
In the States, the Escape got some engine tweaks too, but it seems likely Ford will continue to offer the 1.5 litre petrol and 2.0 litre diesel for the UK and Europe, perhaps with some tweaks for greater efficiency.
Of course, we could be completely wrong and Ford are planning to reveal the all new Ka.
But we’ll find out on the 22nd, if not before.
