All the news we’ve reported on lately with regard to Fiat has been on the Fiat 500C Convertible which launched in the UK recently. Oh, and of course the Fiat 500 Charity bashes, and the news that Fiat is taking the 500 to the US etc., etc. But we haven’t done anything on the hot 500 – the Fiat 500 Abarth – since it landed in UK showrooms back in April.
But now comes news that Fiat is launching a limited Edition 500 Abarth in the land of clogs and windmills – Holland.
The Abarth 500 Competizione features a one-off exterior with a black roof, black ‘Abarth’ graphics on the doors and 17″ alloy wheels in black. Fiat are also throwing in climate, SatNav, upgraded sound system and leather.
There are no power changes to the Abarth 500 Competizione, so it keeps the standard Abarth 500’s 1.4 litre, 4-pot turbo that deliver 135bhp. But I suppose you could bolt on the ‘Essesse’ pack which ups the Abarth’s power to 160bhp.
Just 10 Abarth 500 Competiziones are being built at a hefty €25k. And although the car is just for the Dutch, it signals that Fiat is likely to be doing the Limited Edition thing on the 500 range in the UK soon.
We’ll keep you posted.
