The Range Rover Evoque is the Premiership Footballer’s favourite car, according to figures released on the Top Ten by luxury car finance company JBR Capital.

What would you expect a Premiership Footballer to drive?

Most of us would throw in a supercar or three, something by Range Rover but probably fettled by Revere, and numerous extreme, and often garishly specced, expensive metal.

But according to luxury car finance specialists JBR Capital, the Top Ten Premiership Footballer’s Cars list is headed up by something rather more prosaic – the Range Rover Evoque.

Look further down the list and you’ll find the sort of stuff you’d expect, like a Bentley Bentayga, McLaren 675LT Spider and Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. So why is the Evoque at the top of the list?

JBR aren’t saying – and we assume the list is just one populated by cars they’ve actually financed in the last couple of years, rather than an extensive poll of all Premiership Footballers – but with all the other nine cars in the Top 10 list being rather more expensive, we think there’s a simple reason.

We’re guessing few, if any, of the footballers have grabbed an Evoque for themselves, but for ‘er indoors. Yes, they may use it to pop to training some days, but if they’re out to impress it’ll be the exotica they take.

Still, it’s a feather in JLR’s cap that JBR are stating the Evoque to be the most popular car on the list.

And it won’t do JLR’s mission to offer customisation from SVO to make firms like Overfinch and Revere take a long look over their collective shoulders any harm at all.
