The new Volkswagen Arteon has gone on sale in the UK with prices from £34,305 to £39,955 in Elegance or R-Line trim and a choice of petrol and diesel engines.
The new Volkswagen Arteon arrived in March as VW move their mainstream models in to Audi territory, delivering a stylish new car to replace the old VW CC. And now the Arteon is on sale in the UK.Engine choices for the new Arteon, for now, are a 2.0 litre TSI petrol with 280PS and two versions of the 2.0 litre TDI diesel, one with 150PS the other with 150PS.
But there will be more to come, with a 150PS 1.5 TSI with deactivation technology for frugal running, as well as a 2.0 litre TSI with 190PS. Which rather highlights VW’s move away from diesel engines.
All the engine choices can be had with VW’s seven-speed DSG gearbox, the diesels and 1.5 TSI with a manual if you prefer, and although the lower-powered engines are FWD, the 280PS petrol and 240PS diesel come with VW’s 4MOTION 4WD.
The trim range is very simple, with just the luxury Elegance and sport R-Line trim on offer, but whichever you choose the specs look pretty decent.
All the Arteon models come with Discover Navigation with 8″ Touchscreen, Bluetooth, Media Control, 12.3″ Active Info Display, 18″ alloys, LED headlights, Nappa Leather, Car-Net Connectivity and Climate.
Safety and assistance stuff includes Adaptive Cruise, Road Recognition, City emergency Braking, Front Assist, Speed Assist, Traffic Jam Assist and Lane Keep.
Despite the good standard spec, you won’t be surprised to learn there are a plethora of options to make your Arteon more special, including Panoramic Roof, Discover Pro Infotainment, Massage Seats, uprated Audio and 20″ alloys.
The new Volkswagen Arteon is now on sale at VW’s UK dealers, with prices, for the models you can actually order now, starting at £38,755 for the Arteon Elegance 2.0 TSI 4MOTION with DSG, rising to £39,995 for the Arteon R-Line 2.0 TDI 4MOTION DSG.
