Mitsubishi e-Evolution Concept teases an ELECTRIC 4WD SUV Coupe
The Mitsubishi e-Evolution Concept is teased ahead of a debut at the Tokyo Motor Show next month as an electric SUV Coupe with 4WD.
Mitsubishi’s aim to turn from performance to green is paying dividends with the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, and it looks like the next step is going to be a real push in the pure electric market.
Teased ahead of a debut at the Tokyo Motor Show next month, the Mitsubishi e-Evolution Concept (pictured above) is, say Mitsubishi, “a low-slung, highly-aerodynamic SUV Coupe“.
Mitsubishi say the e-Evolution is a ‘Flagship’ Concept, and previews the future direction not just for powertrains, but for Mitsubishi design too.
There’s very little in the way of detail from Mitsubishi at this stage, but it does say the e-Evolution will not only come with a 4WD electric powertrain, but advanced artificial intelligence too.
We take that to mean Mitsubishi will be previewing their advances in autonomous driving with the concept, but whether that is full autonomous capabilities or just advanced driver aids we don’t yet know.
With its recent tie up with Renault Nissan, a push down the electric route is an obvious one for Mitsubishi, and in its centenary year what better way to go than with a range-topping electric 4WD SUV Coupe and a revival of the ‘Evolution’ name?
More to follow soon, we’re sure.
