Peugeot Rifter arrives to join Citroen Berlingo and Vauxhall Combo MPVs

The 2018 Peugeot Rifter MPV arrives as a replacement for the Partner Tepee and as part three of PSA’s MPV badge engineering, joining the Citroen Berlingo and Vauxhall Combo Life.

The world wants SUVs and Crossover rather than MPVs, but PSA still see a big market for more basic, more practical and more affordable transport for bigger families and their stuff.

That’s why the Citroen Berlingo arrived a week ago as Citroen injected a bit of SUV and ‘Car’ in to their MPV to deliver a practical box at an affordable price which is very fit for purpose.

That was followed a few days ago as the now PSA-owned Vauxhall delivered their take on the Citroen Berlingo – the Vauxhall Combo Life –  complete with a new Vauxhall face and its very own steering wheel. And now it’s Peugeot’s turn.

The Peugeot Rifter arrives as the third piece of PSA’s MPV puzzle – replacing the Partner Tepee – and it too is a Berlingo with Peugeot overtones.

Peugeot has bolted on their family face to the new Rifter and are promising there will be a sport GT Line option if you want it.

You get the same two size options as you do with the Berlingo and Combo, five or seven seats, and the usual 1.2 litre Puretech petrol and 1.5 litre Blue HDi diesels as you do in its siblings.

Inside it’s the same as the Citroen and Vauxhall, except Peugeot has made the effort to fit its saucer-sized steering wheel and i-cockpit instrument panel.

The new Peugeot Rifter MPV is expected to be on sale at Peugeot’s UK dealers in the summer.
