Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo – it’s a ‘Crossover’ Electric Porsche
The Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo Concept is revealed in Geneva as a higher riding estate crossover take on Porsche’s electric Mission E car.
The Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo Concept was not something we were expecting so see at Geneva, and we’re not entirely sure what it is, beyond being a ‘practical’ take on the Mission E EV.It’s not really a Sport Turismo like the Panamera, although it’s arguably an estate. It’s not exactly an SUV either, although it rides higher than a normal car. If anything, this looks like a Porsche Mission E Allroad.
Porsche are calling the Cross Turismo a Cross Utility Vehicle (CUV), so we’re guessing they’re not really sure where it fits either. It’s a sort of electric Porsche Swiss Army Knife of a car. Appropriate for Geneva.
Under The skin is pretty much what’s under the Mission E, with 600bhp of electric power promising 0-62mph in 3.5 seconds and, Porsche are keen you know, capable of doing that time after time.
Oliver Blume, Porsche CEO, said:
The Mission E Cross Turismo is an expression of how we envision the all-electric future. It combines sportiness and everyday practicality in unique style. Our vehicle will be fast to drive, but also quick to recharge and able to replicate its performance time after time.
But get used to the idea of an electric CUV from Porsche, because it looks like it’s heading in to production in 2020/21.
